Experience White Water Rafting at Night on the Kakwa River!
ALBERTA, Canada – The Jasper Rafting Alliance’s approved outfitters offer two great overnight adventures that combine whitewater rafting and camping in Alberta, Canada. A two day, one night whitewater rafting adventure on the Class 2 Athabasca River is great for families and beginners. Utilizing a public, road accessible campsite, this trip is an excellent introduction to camping and rafting without the risks of wilderness travel in Jasper. And for a great rafting experience, try the Kakwa 3-day adventure. The Kakwa River is a tributary of the Smoky River and flows from the Canadian Rockies into the Alberta foothills. Once home to the Beaver and Sekani Indian tribes, and later the fur trading Iroquois, the Kakwa today is uninhabited and rarely traveled.
If three days of wilderness camping, delicious meals, ample wildlife and Class 4 whitewater rapids are what you’re looking for, then get ready for a great trip. Transportation to and from Jasper is generally provided for our overnight trips, as well as food, camping, river and safety equipment.
